LAURA CUTLER
Partner
Laura is a graduate of the Université de Moncton Faculty of Law and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Mount Allison University. She was admitted to the New Brunswick Bar in 2014 and to the Nova Scotia Bar in 2025. She is fluently bilingual, serving the firm’s clients in both official languages, and bases her practice in Moncton and Saint John. Known for her easy rapport with clients, Laura communicates with clarity and empathy while bringing a strong courtroom presence to all of her advocacy work.
Laura was a founding member of Godbout Fawcett, the predecessor to Fawcett Cutler, and has been a co-managing partner of Fawcett Cutler since 2020. She has significant litigation experience including in medical malpractice, regulatory and administrative law, professional defence work, and other complex litigation files. She is actively involved in the Canadian Bar Association (CBA), having served as a member of the CBA-NB’s Executive since 2022, including an extended term as President. She is a member of the Law Society of New Brunswick’s Admissions Committee and Official Languages Committee. She has also acted as a Mentor to incoming members of the New Brunswick Bar, and as an invited group leader during the Intensive Trial Advocacy Program offered by the University of New Brunswick.
